Chapter 1: Humble Beginnings

Amon Bazongo’s story begins in Côte d’Ivoire, where he was born. He grew up in Burkina Faso, embodying the spirit of a true Pan-African. From an early age, Amon was fascinated by science, technology and the possibilities it held for the future. He excelled in his studies, particularly in math and physics, which laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

Chapter 2: The Spark of Innovation

Amon’s passion for technology led him to pursue an education in electronics engineering at a polytechnic university in Burkina Faso. Here, he assembled his first computer from scratch, a testament to his ingenuity and determination. His academic excellence and innovative spirit earned him a scholarship to study in Taiwan, a global hub for electronics and technology.

Chapter 3: Taiwan – A Land of Inspiration

In Taiwan, Amon studied at one of the top universities, located near the renowned Hsinchu Science Park. This experience was transformative. He rubbed shoulders with future leaders in tech, gaining insights from the birthplace of giants like TSMC, Asus, and Acer. The vibrant tech ecosystem in Taiwan inspired Amon to dream big for Africa. During an interview before his departure, he confidently declared his intention to return home and start a company, learning from Taiwan’s leading position in electronics.

Chapter 4: Gaining Experience

Amon’s journey did not stop at his bachelor’s degree. He continued to delve deeper into the world of technology, earning a master’s degree in Big Data Management. His professional journey took him across various sectors, including energy, e-learning, e-commerce, and healthcare. These experiences broadened his perspective and honed his skills, preparing him for the challenges ahead.

Chapter 5: The Return Home

True to his word, Amon returned to Africa. His first stop was Ethiopia, where he contributed to innovation projects at the African Union. This role emphasized the importance of building a robust tech ecosystem, a lesson he had internalized during his time in Taiwan. In 2023, Amon made his way back to Burkina Faso, driven by a mission to transform the tech landscape.

Chapter 6: Building the Future

In Burkina Faso, Amon founded the first artificial intelligence agency in the Sahel region. This venture marked the beginning of a new era for African tech, spearheaded by his vision and leadership. Recognizing the power of community and collaboration, Amon also launched Tech Emerging Africa, a social initiative aimed at fostering the growth of emerging technologies. Through this initiative, he organized the Week of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies (SEINAR), a landmark event focused on youth that has already seen two successful editions.

From his early days as the top student and leader in various school clubs to his ventures during his time in Taiwan, he has always embraced challenges head-on.
